Demoing effects in Sonar

Hi,


Can anyone give me a quick crash course in demo-ing realtimes effects on individual tracks in Sonar?

For example, I have a vocal track that I was trying to use Waves RCL on. The affect will apply but there is no way for me to adjust it w/ out stopping the playback.

The proprietary effects in Sonar will allow this, is there some sort of button or somithing I must engage?

How are you patching in the effect? You should be able to tweak them without any problem.

Click the FX tab at the bottom of your Track View. Then go to the track in question, Right Click in the box labeled FX and navigate through the dropdown menus to select the RCL. That should patch the RCL onto the track and open up the RCL in a window.

Now click the Play button on the transport and tweak the RCL to your heart's content.

If you happen to get dropouts when you do this, it may be that you don't have sufficient horsepower to run the RCL. It is a resource hog superceded only by the Wave RVerb. :) You may need to raise your latency setting or reduce the numerb of tracks or other plugins.
