Is anyone familiar with a Nashville based company called "Paramont"?
I have a song that I wrote and this company claims if you send them a tape or CD of your song they will do a professional demo and get your song to the right people to hear it.
Thanks!

"Danger Will Robinson!"

Dude...I have been on the net for 4 years now musically...

Paramount is a scam...plain and simple..

please use good judgement and ignore anyone who wants you to give them money for your tunes....for any reason at all...

sorry dude,
Joe

My brother paid me $20 to write hime lyrics, was that a scam  ???

I must know!

ask them to list the cuts that they have been directly involved with...

see what that gets you but, they still want money to "forward" your music...
no guarantees that they will do it...they just say they will...
how do you prove it?

lol!

sure...you are a con artist then?
You "asked" for the money?
He didn't "offer" it?

so did it get cut?
Is he on his way to fame and fortune?
Please do tell... lol!

take it one step further....check out the better business bureau so see what if any thing they've done has drawn a red flag there. you never know...you could bust them and get a spot on some morning news show and get some free publicity

Amazing these questions still come up.

It's like the scene in Monster where Theron walks in off the street to apply for a job as a lawyer.

As a general rule, anyone who tells you they will shop your stuff for a fee (without hearing it first) is scamming you. People in a position to shop material get there (and stay there) because they have an ear for quality material and only shop quality material. If someone was going to shop any hack with the cash to fork over, he'd lose his credibility pretty quick and his "shopping" days would be over.

I've actually found that the better business bureau is a scam. I've needed to report one of thier members in the past. You have to send them a fee to start an investigation and thier members are not "awarded" status, they simply pay a fee and POOF like majic your instantly an upstanding member of the Better Business Bureau. Its almost like a mafia protection racket.

if you chose to send a company your song to shop make sure you copywrite it first.what these big companies do,first of all alot of'em are kinda like branches of bigger companies.anyway, they'll take your song and if they think its good enough, they'll copywrite it and sell it or use it for there artists to record.you will not get paid because they will own it.regardless, always copywrite your demos before shopping.the biz is shady....
