Delta44 and celeron conflict

Hi, New guy on the block here and looking for some advice. Running a Celeron 1.8 with 256DDR. Using a Delta 44 with Cakewalk 9.3

I have the pop and click syndrome but it comes and goes. On take with pop and click, the next will not. There is no pattern. After messing with latencies and buffers and the Delta drivers, the only thing I can think of it a possible disagreement between the processor and the soundcard, as it acted up shortly after the processor was installed.

Or maybe... anyone see a probem with running video via and AGP slot? Have they been known to cause problems?

Appreciation in advance for feedback and thoughts.
 
It's not the processor itself, although it may be the chipset. What motherboard are you running?

Has nothing to do with AGP graphics, which are preferred...

The chipset is a VIA P4X266.... I assume this is what you mean. The board was put in at the same time as the processor, and shortly afterward I began getting these on again/off again pops and clicks.
