I just got my delta 44 working and I have a quick question. Everything sounds great, im going direct out through 1/4 cables from my vetta into my delta. I was wondering if it would sound better if I bought some XLR cables and went out from the vetta using those but I would still have to go into the delta using 1/4 connecters since I dont have the omni. I would love to buy the omni later on but I have no money to get it now hehe.
I assume from what you say that the Vetta has a balanced line output with an XLR connector? The OMNI's 1/4" inputs are balanced. You can get a balanced cable that has an XLR connector at one end and a 1/4" TRS connector on the other end. But it will make little difference in sound quality, if the cable lenght is short. Balanced cables pick up less RF noise than an unbalanced connection, but that might not be an issue. Often the pickup noise or the preamp noise is worse than the noise picked up in the line cable.
