Delta and the newer Sonar version...

When using ASIO-drivers the Waveprofiler should be replaced by the ASIO Panel button and the Latency Slider is locked. That's because you set the latency samples in the Delta Control Panel. What happens if you set the latency to, say, 256 samples or 512 samples?

...Umh, sorry for the confusing info, I guess I got mine still there, because I put both '66 and SB Live! in a same machine. It works for the SB. And my I/O buffer size set to 100kb...

Lowest latency is 336. Closest to 512 is 528. At 336 the click/pop stops but alot of static is introduced. Same for 528. Tryed Sonar I/O buffer at 100kb with no differance..... :(

How is that possible? I thought that if you select WDM-drivers, WDM will be used for both/all of your cards. The same for MME and ASIO.

Now, if you use ASIO-drivers the slider will lock itself and the Waveprofile-button will change into the ASIO-Panel button.

Are you saying you still have the Waveprofiler even if you use ASIO-drivers? Help James, I'm confused. :confused:

My anchient prehistoric IBM came with Win98SE. The OEM opsys and it's pre-installed software is configured solely with Win98SE in mind.

That is why I choose to leave Win98SE as the main operating system and XP just for Sonar. I run some pretty fancy programs off of this computer which is also my primary server for my home network. Other than minor drop-outs with Sonar it rarely gives any problems.

With this type of track record going on 4 years, It's hard for me to trust anything else. :D

I printed that document on your thread but it's about installing Win2000. It also specificaly states that Windows2000 is not recommended for audio based systems. :confused:

What's the deal here?

Never mind that, win2000 is perfectly OK for audio (works great for me and many others). Opus (the guy who runs this site) seems to prefer XP. Installation instructions for XP should also be somewhere there.

I don't agree! I never had a problem with my soundcard or Sonar in Win2000 (but I had a problem with my videocard).

...No, I switch often between drivers on sequencing MIDI (External & Soundfonts), playback, and recording. I just found WDM works better (in my case only) when I do MIDI thingee. When I use WDM, I select SB only, and dissable the Delta for eficiency. It's kinda bad habbit, but I keep some old fashioned ways that I get used to when I work. ;)

Seems like fun.... err... and a lot of work. :rolleyes: :p
