i am building a computer to use in my recording studio... how are the m audio delta 66's? any drawbacks/thing i should know? thanks

I have a Delta 1010 and it's been a great card for me. I assume the 66 is similar with less inputs.

I have read of some people that have experienced crackling sounds with Delta cards - but it seems that most have been able to get rid of it through a variety of tweaks (e.g., disabling ACPI). FWIW I've never had any bad experience with mine.

Ditto... my Delta 66 works like a top for me and has since day 1, over two years now.

18 months here with Delta 66/Omni Studio. Ya really can't go wrong with it.

Cheers,

I use the Delta 66/Omni Studio and the sound is great. The software (control panel) sucks though.

Gotta agree with Dave - the Delta Control panel needs an overhaul but after a little bit of a learning curve, you never really have to bother with it. I only use mine to mute a mic once in a while.

Ditto on the above. Omni studio is a very nice unit for the price.

Another big Omni Studio/66 fan here. I sold my Delta 44, a couple of ART preamps and an audio buddy to get mine - and it's more than worth it.
