Good Day All,

I just recently upgraded to CEP 2.O and wanted to keep using my M-AUDIO Delta 66 as my soundcard.
Well needless to say, I was womndering about a few things. In the older version of CEP, I had the choice of recording the signal from any of the 4 ins on my soundcard, and on this version it is only allowing me the choice of only 1 and 2.
I haev checked the settings and made sure that I had designated my Delta card as the primary hardware.
Does anyone have any experience in this area?
Also while I am at it, how does everyone here record with CEP 2.0?
I mean, let's say you have multiple sources of signals; ie-guitar, bass, vocalist, drums, etc... How would you record multiple sources at one time? Do you all prefer to do one track at a time in CEP 2.0?
Just trying to pick the brains of all the gurus in here.
Thanks for any help.

I get a cleaner sound recording one instrument at a time, although if I'm miking guitar, I use two mics, which means two tracks recorded simultaneously.

I'm hazy on this one and don't use CEP much for it's multitrack. I think you have to find a dialog (from recording and playback device?) that has a button bringing up a larger dialog that lets you choose which of the available Delta card ins and outs are assigned to consecutive tracks. The main Settings/Devices menu dialog is only meant for the stereo editor view, the multitrack requires a bit more mousing or you only get the stereo pair for the editor. I'll be upgrading to CEP2 soon but I'm assuming the setup is similar.
If CEP2 is anything like Sonar, use the "Multichannel" Delta channels 1/2, 3/4 & 5/6 (Is 7/8 the monitor mixer on the 66?)

You can select an individual input for each track. Under the RSM buttons on the track header, theres two rectangular buttons that say OUT 1 and REC 1. Click on the REC 1 button for track one, and select M Audio Delta 1/2, then select the "Left Channel" Radio button to your left. Analog Input 1 is now going to record on track 1 (provided that you press the Red R button to arm it).

Then go to track 2 and do the same, but instead select the "Right Channel" radio button. Analog input 2 will now record onto track two.

Make sure you go into your Delta monitor mixer and get the levels right, as well as pan each input to the center, so it doesn't throw you off while monitoring.

Good Luck
Chris
