Well damnit. Everything looks normal. That network card is one that I commonly recommend for Win2k (well, the Realtek chipset I should say). The modem is junko but shouldn't make any difference. Your IRQ's are setup just peachy fine.

But hey wait a second here. Where's your video card? What kind of video you running? Probably integrated. Do you also have integrated sound on there?

Find out what kind of video you've got and what kind of resources it's using. Most modern accelerated AGP graphics chipsets use an IRQ.

The Video card is an onboard Intel 810 chipset. The sound is also onboard and is disabled by the hardware jumper and within device manager. The Display Adaptors resources do not show an IRQ. Just I/O and Memory ranges. It's amazing how pretty it all became after I changed the setup to Standard PC from ACPI.

Also what is the version of the Delta driver you're running? Device manager delta properties driver. Mine is showing 5.12.1.9. Is that the newer version?

I can't believe it I think I got Guitar Studio to work (at least for now). I did the ol uninstall and reinstall and still ended up with a timing issue but nothing like I had before. So I went into the Delta Control panel and changed the master clock to internal and everything works. JUST KIDDING. I changed it to S/PDIF and then changed it back to Internal Xtal and so far Cakewalk is playing. I have only tried recording up to 5 very short tracks but I have played back the stuff I recorded before on about 9 tracks with effects on 4.

Now I just have to figure out which package I want to use that will support more then two inputs. I think good tech support will be my deciding factor.

Very very strange indeed. What all did you reinstall? Can you retrace your steps? It might help somebody else here who is having problems...and problems like this one are a bitch.

As far as software goes...I still recommend n-Track. Even if you hate it you're only out 50 bucks :)

Basically just that. I uninstalled Guitar Stuido using it's own uninstall. I then rebooted and verified all of the settings in the Delta Control panel and reinstalled Cakewalk with the default settings. Now I would think there would be something to say for having the Delta installed when installing Cakewalk as opposed to I had Cakewalk installed when I installed the Delta. Also since I had to switch the clock back and forth makes me a little anxious for a new driver. I should probably send them a detailed email of the whole story.

Now on to the next question 48,000 Hz verses 96,000 Hz. Sounds like a good time to start a new post.

Thank you very much for all of your help so far.

What I have been noticing is that my sample rate setting in the Delta control panel keeps changing. As long as I can keep it above 48,000 Hz everything plays fine but it jumps around all over the place.

Try disabling all windows sounds. The little waves that play for various windows events are 22khz, so they'll obviously change your soundcard's sample rate setting assuming that you have the delta setup as the primary soundcard.

You can also try the "Rate Locked" switch in the delta control panel.
