Some time ago I read on this forum how one can set up Cakewalk to launch 'Cool Edit Pro' from within Sonar by editing the registry.

My Omni/Delta 66 software can only be launched from the desktop. However, with other software applications that have ASIO capable drivers the Delta software can be launched from within Sonar.

Can the registry be edited the same way as was done with Cool Edit Pro to allow the Delta software to be launched from the 'tool' menu?

what the heck do u need to use the delta 66 software for?

The Omni/Delta comes with I/O control box that allows one to route the the recording signal, playback, monitor, input mic, instruments, pre-amp, mix........the list is endless.

Anyway, I don't know how anyone can do without this marvoulous device on Sonar. The software is the control panel for the box.

I'ved used this set-up since February and its performed flawlessly.

I'm just curious, (and lazy). I hate having to minumize the Sonar window so I can click open the Delta control panel when I need to make routing changes. :D

Create a shortcut to the icon on your desktop and assign a keyboard shortcut to it like CRTL+ALT+M

This has been a feature of Windows since Win95 or earlier...

Or create a shortcut and put it on the Windows taskbar. That will allow you to launch it without minimizing Sonar.

Thats no different than what he's doing now. The newer Delta drivers install the icon in the System Tray. Sounds like he doesn't always have the Taskbar on Top.

You could make a keyboard shortcut. Right-click on the Shortcut on the Desktop, and in the "Shortcut Key"-field. Press a combination of Ctrl + Alt + anykeyyouwant, and you're done! :)

Actually,

I don't want anything on my task bar. My computer is streamlined to run only what I am working with at the time and my task bar clean.

Thanks for the support fellas! :D

Just a note: My trick works on any Shortcut, even the ones in the Start-menu...

Creating a shortcut is not the same as having a program run in the background. It doesn't use any resources, it's just a quick way to launch something. (Actually not much different than what you were asking for in the first place.)
