hey, i would like to upgrade my sound card, but i want to make sure im making the right decesion. I was thinking about upgrading to either the Audiophile, or the Delta 44. Im not sure which is better for what im doing.I would like to go with the delta 44 because i like the breakout box. I will be recording my electronic drums and my guitar. Also, will i be able to get or add sorround sound with these sound cards? and will i need any other type of equipment? i allready have a zoom 510 pedal to go through so i think that might be help out.
Thanks a lot, Andrew

Delta Audiophile-$149...stero input on unbalanced rca gold plated plugs, S/PDIF in.....

Delta 44-$199...4 inputs in on 1/4 inch plugs,4 outputs on 1/4 inch plugs....all balanced.....

Delta 66-$319...same as 44 but has S/PDIF in and out

I'm pretty sure all 3 use the same converters which are very decent...

Depending on your input/output needs and what you are willing to spend...

If you can get the Delta 44 for $50 more than the Audiophile, get it. It's definitely a step up in overall quality.

hey, i'll def go with the delta 44. But will i be able to add sorround sound to my recordings? and will i need any other type of equipment? because i hear it doesnt have a mic pre, will my zoom 510 handle that problem? Also does this sound card have good play back or would i have to use my old sound card and the delta at the same time? Thanks a lot

Delta44 is a great choice if you dont need S/SPIF......If you are just recording your guitar with the zoom and electronic drums, you wont need a mic pre, those can go straight into the card and will sound fine....Im not sure what you mean by good playback, but the D/A converters are top notch...you will have to run it out thru some kind of monitoring system (powered monitors, stereo reciever, headphones)....the surround sound issue is one Im not too familiar with so I dont wanna tell you wrong, but I think there are specialty type cards that do that (sounbblaster live 5.1???).....anyone.....bueller........

hey, thanks gidge, when i say sorround sound i mean like you put a rythem guitar in the background of the recording so that if i were to listen to my recorded song through a sorround sound system, the sorround sound speakers would have the rythem guitar. this prob has somthing to do with the software but im not sure.anyway, im happy to hear that the delta 44 will work well for me.
Thanks, Andrew
