Yeah, I remember the past couple of months reading the various posts on this board of folks needing help after installing their soundcards and me thinking, "What losers, I won't need any help with mine."

So, in a cruel bit of irony, here I am, a loser, needing help with mine.

Anyway, I put in my Delta 410 yesterday and got the connection to my monitor system going fine. The problem arose when trying to get the guitar direct input started up.

Keep in mind, I won't be getting a mixer for a couple of months (thanks to the unplanned guitar purchase I made), so my current setup is just a stopgap solution so I can begin recording now.

I've got my guitar running into an old BBE Sonic Maximizer, output (via a 1/4" male to RCA male cable) to one of the 410's RCA female inputs.

I think I have all the right hardware and connections, but get no reading on the M-audio mixer interface.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Does that Sonic Maximiser have a preamp? Like how strong is your input signal?

think you're right

Yep, got to reading the manual and I do believe that's what the problem is. I can affect the gain on the BBE unit, but there's no pre-amp that I know of. Guess I'll just have to wait for the mixer.

Thanks, Bulls Hit.
