Hi,
I purchased this card and installed and we did some recording with it, So far so good.
Sounds awesome and we actually can stream two tracks without any bleedthrough.
Im still a harcore newbie and I have some questions regarding setup of this card.

What mixer would be recommened for use with this?
Being that it has the 10 I/O's
We have two little Berringer mixers right now.
I have one for my drums and the guitar players uses one.
We just go from the tape outs (RCA) to the inputs (RCA) on the 1010, Is this wrong?
Is there something that can be used so we can all go into a central mixer and then seperate outs to the 1010 they would have to be RCA, I dont know.......... :-/
Like I said, Im hardcore newbie and we are jusst getting into this so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You get a few option with a mixer to keep thinks seperate when your tracking- you could get a mixer with direct outs on each chennel to maintain seperate tracks in the 1010 or you could get a mixer with 8 busses and do pretty much the same-
I use that card with a Soundcraft M8- 8 channels with direct out- into the 1010

And yeah- your fine goin from the tape outs to the ins on the card- you could also use the 1/4" "Main" or "Monitor" outs if you had an adapter.

Mixers and Direct out

Thanks for the responses!!

I have UB802
As for direct outs, do you mean that the mixer you mentioned has RCA outs for each channel so I could go directly into the breakout cable of the 1010?

You said u use that mixer with direct out to the 1010, do you mean something differant...

That mixer you have is nice, a little out of my range though :-)

Thanks again

a mixer doesnt have to have RCA outs in order to go into the 1010lt...if it has 1/4" outs, just get a cable that goes from 1/4" to RCA........

what you are doing now is perfectly acceptable......that should be getting you 6 preamped channels (4 from the 2 Behringers and 2 on the soundcard).......one more Behringer and youd have all 8 analog inputs covered.......

if you wanna do it with just one mixer, about the cheapest you can go with is the Yamaha MG 16/4.......it has 10 preamps.......

I see said the blind man............ Now it's making more sense.
I guess I try to get to technical instead of thinking basics... hehe...!!!
Now, it's making more sense to me, thanks sooooooo much for the replies!!!
Im off to test it out........ Im sure I'll be back later..

THANKS!

1010LT Outs

Ok, I was messing with everything and it's working just like you stated, THanks again!

One thing I couldnt figure out was, Im using CEP/Audition.
Im going out of 1 & 2 and have that specified as Mon or Wav out depending on what im doing.
But when I playback Im only getting sound coming out of 1 side
if I try to pan left or right it dies on one side and then is louder on the other side.

Im going into a HP4 - Four Channel Headphone Distribution Amplifier, this handles bal or unbal 1/4 connectors.

so I go into that from 1 & 2 of the breakout cable and then to 1/4 unbal into the Hp4 then I go from that to a stereo reciever which has my studio monitors hooked up to it.

Im testing this with a MP3 that I know is in stereo. I noticed when I unplug either 1 or 2 from the breakout cable it's only getting siginle from one of the outputs from the 1010.........
I dont know if im making any sense or is that the way it's supposed to be, or is something setup wrong..

anyways.... suggestions, thoughts. comments//

Thanks

Delta 1010LT & Yamaha 16/4

OK, so I went out and bought the mixer you suggested, not sure what type's of cables to get for the outs to the delta though.
My drum mics use XLR & 1/4 connects.
I have them plugged into the mixer channles 1 -7 , Iv'e got sound coming from my puter to the mixer and out of my HP4 to my monitors.. One thing off the subject. If I open a browser and hit a website, i can hear scrolling noises through the monitors... and the Mp3 im using for testing drags if I scroll up and down.. WEIRD,,,, Anyway!!
Do I just need to get 1/4 2 RCA going from the YAmmie I/O outs to the Delta's RCA in's for each channel? I mean do they need be anything special as ring and tip type cables, BLAH, BLAH you know, Im a totall NOOB at this and need some guidance...

Thanks!!
