i am using a 1.9G amd, delta 1010lt, cakewalk sonar xl, and using a mackie 1604 into the channel insterts to send to the 8 inputs of the delta, i am doing simple recording. just one guitar and overlaying tracks. my problem is that i am getting latency in the audio so i cannot monitor the recorded tracks when i am recording a new track as it is not in real time. i had a soundblaster platinum prior to this and never had a prblem with latency or lags in the audio, i could actually play my guitar into the input and hear it out of the speakers in real time. it does not seem like with the maudio that i have found a configuration where this works, i know it's probably some dumb oversight on my part but i cannot figure this out.

You should have no problems getting latency down to a few mS with that setup, assuming you've got enough ram

Try
1. Make sure 'Monitor Mixer' is selected in the Delta Control Panel
2. Use Asio drivers
3. Reduce the number of buffers and/or samples held in the buffers

i guess the main question is:

in the delta control panel when using the "monitor mixer" should i be able to hear the inputs to the soundcard and not just the playback or "wave out". i have it set up now as output 1&2 as left and right "wave out", I have tried using them as "monitor mixer" but i do not hear anything out. as i understand it from the manual the monitor mixer should be able to hear the inputs and outputs of the sound card. could this be an issue of misconfigured hardware?
