I just got my Delta 1010 today, and decided to install XP all at the same time(actually, the fact that there are no Gadget Labs drivers for XP has been holding me up). Damn, it couldnt have gone smoother. I just unpluged my Gadgetlabs 824, and plugged in the Delta, and hit the switch. It booted up, asked me for the driver cd, and started working. Can't ask for better than that. zero problems so far. Sonar works just fine...Guess I better get inspired to record this weekend to justify it.

Anybody wanna buy a Gadget labs wave 8/24 ?

hi,
i use sonar xl and the delta 66/omnistudio with windows millenium. i only had problems in the beginning setting it up. but you say you had no problems at all with windows xp and sonar? because i was thinking of upgrading. is there any need to update the drivers with xp?

The 1010 installed with the XP drivers it came with perfectly. Delta has driver on thier website for XP

I just want to butt-in here for those reading to note that in XP most audio cards do work fine. It is the SOFTWARE that has problems. SONAR was always designed for Winm 2k hence it works ok but a lot of other stuff doesnt... Also SONAR is one of the few programs to have full support for WDM drivers. Suffice to say SONAR would be the best prg ever for audio if only it had support for VST 2.

So, the crux of the story is if your audio hardware worked with 2k it will very likely work with XP. However, check your software manufacturer for details re XP.

Bdgr - very recently Ametth was interested in acquiring an 824.

well,
I just did the upgrade to XP. installed the drivers for my
delta 66 card that i had to get from the M Audio website, and its like they say so far, no problems. Latency has improved slightly, but there wasnt really any to begin with.
thanks for the idea to upgrade.
