Delta 1010 questions

Ok so I did a search on what I am looking for and couldn't seem to find it. I will probably be buying a multi channel card soon and need some info to pick out the one I want.

1) If you have a delta 1010 card and it is your only soundcard, how do you monitor through it? I always look at pics and don't see a monitor out on it. Do you have to set all 8 the channels to output 1 and 2 or something like that?

2) Has anyone ever used multiple 1010's together? I have read that it is possible, but I was wondering if you would have to use another pci card in your system for it.

I think that is most of it. I really like M-Audio stuff and from what I have heard this thing is awesome.

You can use multiple delta products in one machine, but yes, it will require a PCI card for each product. The Delta 1010 is a PCI card and breakout/converter box system. The drivers are cool in that they support multiple devices.

In regards to #1, outputs 1/2 can be set to "monitor mixer" as you can see from Doc's pic there. You just set the HW Out 1/2 to Monitor Mixer and you're set.

Man, those 1010 seems popular, I really want one to.

Just like I want new monitors. And a decent mixer. And I need some more mics... But I definetly need more money :(
 
Thanks guys...I figured ut probably worked something like that, but that really helped me clear up the confusion.

I really want a couple 1010's and a Logic Control. I heard Logic was going to be able to read protools stuff, or is it Nuendo?? If so that would be a great setup for a home studio, because you could master your stuff at any studio with protools.

I think you could totally cut out a mixing boad this way too, except for the fact that you would need phantom power and preamps. It's too bad that for a 100 more you can't get a 1010 with preamps. And most 8 input preamps cost 1000+

I really don't trust Aardvark because of thier driver situation, but they do have 8 preamps. The other option is MOTU, but for PC I don't think thier support is so good either. It seems like M-audio has some of the best driver support right now, and they make kick-arse products for the money you spend.

Maybe it's just me but I DON'T THINK SO!!!!

I tried the Logic products (as a loyal SF user) and was totally confused. Oh well!
 
You might want to look into a 16 channel mixer with decent pres.

I like the Allen & Heath, although I occasionally will prefer the dbx 386 as a front end to the line inputs I need for the Delta 1010.
