Hi I was thinking about purchasing a delta 1010 to run along with my mpc 2000xl. What I really want to know is can I multitrack and what software can I use for this. Im tired of recording one track at a time I want to record 8 tracks at the same time so they can all be sync without having to move my mouse around to put it on beat. My mpc has the 8 out board and since the delta 1010 also ave 8 outs I was thinking this can be done. Im basically just making beats. Sorry this is such a newbie question. I just want to make sure Im buying the right soundcard.

thank you

Sure the 1010 will do this well enough.
The software choice's are many. try to stick with the more notible ones such as Cakewalk, Cubase, Logic, Cool Edit or Sound Forge.
All these will do multitrack.

For $599 the 1010 is hard to beat. In that price range I don't think there is anything out there with as high a dynamic range as the 1010. If the 1010 fits in your budget your making a good decision. If there is anything negative I can think of it would be using a 1010 with an AMD/VIA based PC. That's what I use but it took some tweaking to get real stable. MAudio talks about these issues on their web site so it really shoudn't be any problem if you do have an AMD based system, especially with the newer chipsets.

Good luck!

I also had another question how would I record multitracking using midi? Do I need to buy a midi port that has 8 out??? Or I have to track them one by one??? Yep another newbie question..

thank you
