Hmmmm, not too sure what you are looking for here.

Assuming that
  • you have the card installed
  • you have the drivers (.004x) installed
  • you can open the control panel, go to system, see it, and see that it is working properly
With the exception of the two balanced XLR inputs (which can be line level or mic pre as you wish), all of the ins and outs are unbalanced RCA. Just plug the in cables on the card to the out ports on the mixer.

Is this kinda what you need, or am I missing something? What are looking for putting the mixer in the middle of the signal chain?

well im kinda new at this. yhe card is in and seems to be working. my mixer has 6 mic , line , and insert plugs plus 2 channels for stereo . main, group, monitor l&r outs.
what i want is to here the music i have on my software go thru the mixer for headfone use and to my amp for speaker use and i need to hear the vocals i want to record in both and to control the level of listening and recording. im really new at this, forgive me for being stupid. i am confused on the cards in and outs and the use of the controls. can you help ?

I've only had the card two weeks, so I am a pretty poor resource. I am going to be running two of the outputs to a pair of headphones, and two of the outputs to a Mackie for distribution to the mains (just lazy). Downstream I may have multiple monitors whereupon feeding to the Mackie will make more sense. Otherwise all vocals/instruments will feed directly into the 1010LT and I will be using n-Track as a virtual mixer.

If you have your mics running into your board you can use the outs or the inserts to route to the 1010LT and just use your software to lay down the tracks.

I suppose eventually I'll try it both ways, but right now my intent in avoiding the Mackie is to keep the signal chain as clean as possible.

what is the name of the mixer you are using?

First thing is decide how many outputs your mixer is capable of, then how many you need to use simultaneously.

From your description have 2 stereo main outs, another 2 group outs, and several inserts so you should be able to fill up the 1010lt's 8 analog inputs if you so desire.

Start with the main outs. These are probably XLR or 1/4" jacks, so you'll need converter jacks to plug into the rca inputs. Run the 2 main outs into inputs 1 & 2 of the 1010. Do the same with the Group outs - plug into inputs 3 & 4 of the 1010.

Let's say you now want to record 4 mics onto 4 seperate tracks in magix. Plug the mics into channels 1 to 4 on the mixer. Pan channels 1 and 3 hard left & pan 2 & 4 hard right. Push the relevant buttons on the mixer so that channels 1 & 2 go to the Main out, and channels 3 & 4 route to the Group out.

In Magix, arm your 4 tracks to record. Select the inputs as Delta Left 1, on the first track, Delta Right 1 on track 2, Delta left 2 on track 3 and Delta right 2 on track 4. This will give you the Main outs on tracks 1 & 2, the the Group outs on tracks 3 and 4.

Run Outputs 1 and 2 from the 1010 into the 2TR In jacks on your mixer. These will probably all be rca. Now you can monitor the output from the 1010 through the mixer's headphone jack. Hook up your amp/speakers to the mixer's Control Room out, and you can monitor from there as well.

Now you're ready to record!

thank you , ill try that, inputs 1 and 2 on the 1010 card are xlr, do i buy plugs to convert or are 1 and 2 really 3 and 4 on the card ? because 1 and 2 are for mics only or ?

You can plug 2 mics straight into the xlr inputs without going through the mixer, as the 1010 card comes with 2 preamps. Use the mixer preamps to drive the other 6 inputs

Just make sure that you're using dynamic mics. The 1010LT does not provide phantom power.

thanks.......im on my way to recording. i may have more dumb questions later. thanks for the help !!!!

I recently purchased a delta 1010 as well. I have a Behringer mixer with 6 inserts, 3 aux outs, 2 sub outs, and of course the control room, main, and headphone outputs.

If you can find a snake that has 6 TRS on one end and 12 RCA on the other, then you can use your 6 inserts (I believe they are Tip=send, Ring=return) and have 6 independant ins/outs from your Delta 1010. Use the other techniques on this thread to get at least 2 more outs and ins on your mixer for the full experience. If you have 2 xlr on your main outs, you can connect those directly to the 2 xlr ins on your soundcard right there.

If you can't find the snake to hook it up, you can use 6 Hosa stereo 1/4" - 2 RCA cables. They are only like $5 at musicians friend.
