Hey all,

I'm getting a bit frustrated. I currently have the E-mu 1820m, and I love it so far, but the damn Patchmix software is so confusing and is driving me crazy. I had a firewire 410 for a week or so and just remember how easy the software mixer was to use, and now I'm looking for some encouragement/advice. Do you think I should stick through it and learn the patchmix software (any tutorials or anything?) or sell it and go to the ease of the Delta 1010?

Thanks guys,

Jackson

P.S. - I was reading about the Delta 1010ai (ADAT Interface). Do they still make/sell these anywhere?

don't know about the 1010ai but I run a delta 1010 and two delta 410's in my computer...12in/24out with no hitches or glitches

same with my 1010... its a dope machine. The cool thing too is the fact that you can bring audio back out into another box for comp or soem sort of FX with really no hassle. solid

Anybody have an opinion on which they think is better, besides all the digital in's advantage of the E-mu. The way I see it, if I want to record at 96khz it's only a 4-in/4-out card. It's frustrating me quite a bit.

Thanks for the help,

Jackson

I personally think the E-mu is the far superior card. (as lnog as you don't ned wdm, etc. la la la we know the driver drill...) I got 0 problems with Patchmix...

Also, the card is a 12 in, 18 out device in 96 khz mode. You can either use all 8 of the analog ins and the two s/pdifs, or you use the ADAT in s/mux mode and use 4 analog ins and the s/pdfis.

If you're having trouble, have you tried the E-mu forums? www.productionforums.com/emu

Thanks

That was just the kind of encouragement i needed I guess.

Thanks,

Jackson
