Delta 1010 and monitoring

hi,

I have a delta 1010 but I use my sound system as a monitor, I just hook my headphones to the aiwa cd player. Now, I´m sure there is a better way to moniter; preamps, mixers or something in that vain, what do you delta 1010 users out there use when it comes to monitering?
