Thanks to the advice from this board, I purchased a Delta 1010. I am using Cool Edit Pro. The problem: Cool Edit doesn't seem to be picking up the signal like I think it should. I opened M-Audio's software and everything appears to be coming through the sound card just fine. But, I get a weak signal in Cool Edit. Anyone have any experience with Cool Edit and Delta 1010?

Do you have any other sound cards installed? Is CE configured to use the Delta for in/out?

Are you getting a signal in CE but its not hot enough? Is the signal coming in hot in the delta VU monitor?

I found this on mine as well - when i record SPDIF. I "normalize" each track every time I record, before mix down.

I would love to hear any other suggestions too. But, I understood digital level is not adjustable.

Bighand - The trick is getting the signal hot enough that you dont need to normalize. Normalizing everything is a bad habit and just raises the level of background noise in your tracks.
