i got a few old mastered tracks that i want to delete, but can't find a way to do it.

You can't delete "Master Tracks", but you can record over them, creating a new "Master". With v2.0+ you can copy the "Master" back in onto 2 tracks, then, if it feels good, you can delete them there.

whats the v2.0 , a memory upgrade or something? and where can i buy it from, i noticed tascam site is down...?

alright, thanks. I have the tascam CDR hooked up to it. I can upgrade with that?

nevermind, i found out. Damn i have 1.30V. I got mine a while ago, and missing all these goodies.

Now whats a good programs i can use to mixdown my tracks if i want to export what i recorded as wavs to my pc?

I have a 788 also and was thinking of upgrading, but i dont want to risk damaging the unit.
Joe, i have started to put my 788 mastered cd's in my pc and I have used music match to convert to wav, although i am sure there are other programs of course

Also I picked up a cheap $10 copy of magix's music studio at comp usa. It allows one to add 10 band eq, compression, normalization, and reverb/delay to wav files.
They have a more comprehensive edition for $40.

I was going to upgrade, but figured i would just spend the money on a ton of 650mb cd-r's for backing up, since I am using on of the Teac cd writers that does not accept the 700 mb discs.

I am hoping tascam introduces a new recorder (788 is almost 3 years old) that would have a larger hard drive and built in cd-r similar to Korgs d series

yes i have 1.03. Does the 2.02 come with the necessary stuff to fix all my bugs?

I already ordered.. did i have to get 2.0 first?

2.02 is the latest version with no known bugs (at least that's the claim). You need nothing else, just the 2.02 eprom.

has anyone gotten these lately? I wasnt sure if they were backordered. Also, could someone reccomend a hard drive? I saw Staples has a 80gb Maxtor for $65 after rebates and CompUSa has a 80gb Segate Barracuda for around $50
