delay problem

First let me say how greatful I'am for the site and the knowledgeable people here. I'am very much a newbie to PC recording and just learning midi, where my problem is. I have cubase le software with Lexicon omega interface.

Now when i play the keyboard there is a slight delay before you can here the note, any help would be great.

Brickhouse the problem you are experiencing is called latency as Garry says and it is probably caused from using the usb port(slow) and your computer to monitor. To reduce the latency, go to your audio system setup and choose a lower sampling rate and/or go to the advanced options and check your drivers and buffers. If you monitor from the headphone output of the Lexicon omega interface you should get no latency.
 
What I do is just turn the volume of the channel your recording into down. If you can hear the sound from some other source besides your pc speakers that is.
