Hey guys, been awhile since I hung around this side of the interwebs.

About a month or two ago I recorded a song in my home studio for my friend's band that I drum in part time. I was going to post it here before it was released but never got around to it....so may as well show it now.

Not a bad track, the vocal seems to sit in the thick of things which is stifling it a little. Maybe EQ it up around the 4.5k mark to help it cut through and put a slight edge on the diction. The vocal seems to have elements on some syllables which when they peak, that sound is predominately out wide where a lot other stuff is happening, perhaps bring that in and let it bolster the attack which might help it cut through better as there is space for it there. The organ sound gets a little lost in the track and only really shows itself towards the end. I'm not sure if panning the lead guitar is of benefit, but that's personal taste. Overall I like it.

thanks for the listen

Tim

Yeah the vocal is a little low - I was thinking too much/type of reverb perhaps. The rest of the mix is great for me... Drums sound really good in this mix...

Hmmm, vocals too loud? I brought 'em up from the original rough mix, the singer didn't want them any louder though.

The organ is supposed to come out at the end, considering that's a completely separate organ track. Organs are tough to mix, since they're so full they have to be in the background or they'll eat all the other instruments for lunch.
