I really want to buy a 788 but it costs 1211 dollars including shipping in Belgium to be shipped to the Philippines. There is no other way because my relatives live there and I don't have a credit card. But if I upgrade my computer which already has an audiophile soundcard with spdif I/O, It will only cost me 576 dollars plus the technician lives next door. I don't really want to record my music on the computer because of a sync problem that I had before. A song sounds perfect but when I mix it down to 1 file, the parts aren't syncronized. I'm not sure that after the computer upgrade, everything will go on smoothly with the recording but as for the 788, there aren't any problems that I'll encounter with it. what do you think? Will I be making a big mistake if I decide to get the 788?

Those sound like wierd synch problems... what software are you using to record?

If I was in your position, I'd spend the money on a new soundcard, and something like Cubase SX - I seriously doubt you'll have mixdown problems then.

Cheers
