I decided that I have to use Pro Tools as my main software for recording (pretty much all the people I work with have it, and its easier in the long run to get files to me) so I need a decent interface with good preamps. The only one I think that's priced okay is the M-Audio Firewire 1814. I also looked at the projectmix from M-Audio, but I dont need the control surface, and I've read that the mic pres and the converters are the same as the 1814. I can get FW-1814 for about $400. Do you think this can get the job done? I will be recording vocals with my Blue Baby Bottle and AT4040.. and I monitor with KRK V6s. thanks guys and please do add any other equipment you have in mind.

thanks for replying... for now ill be using 1 in.. but i'll def expand. a reason why i chose that one is cause you can attached higher end converters via ADAT.. but nothing something i would be looking into anytime soon. Anyhow, is the 1814 a nice, good sounding interface?
