So I FINALLY finished it! Let me know what you guys think of this track and any critiques, etc. are welcome.

Nice. Powerful driving song. Liked it all, only thing was the drum fill at the start still seems a bit out of place. And I was sure I could hear digital distortion or clipping at points. Enjoyed the song though.
 
This is good song with a nice production and a good vocal. But the vocal doesn't quite sit right... I'm not sure if it's mixed too low, or what.
 
Guitars and drums sound great, really crisp. I agree with Tobe about the vocal though - it doesn't quite cut through enough for me
 
Sounds a lot like Go With The Flow (Queens of the Stone Age)...just the music. The vocal melody is totally different.

I think it's a good recording. I think the vocal level is close enough to live with. I can make out words. I'm not a big fan of the doubling or whatever you've got going on with the vocal, but that's a taste issue.
 
Yeah, I hear what you guys are saying with the vocals. After stepping away from it for a bit and going back to listen with fresh ears I agree that the doubled track is way to loud and there's not enough natural voice in there (if that's such a term). I'm going to try lowering the second track considerably and maybe added a little more bottom to the vocal eq to warm it up a bit.
 
Wow.... 15 seconds into this one, and I'm really enjoying it. Drums sound very blunt and tough. Fits well. Guitars sound nice and tight, and I like the tone (but I'm not a guitar guy)... Yeah... Mix-wise, this is pretty well-done in my opinion. Nice vocal level, and great singing. Great driving beat. Nice guitar solo... (guitar solo could be a bit louder.... Needs to melt my face more)

All in all, great job man!
 
That intro drum roll throws me every time, lol.

It sounds huge, and I really like the vocal treatment a lot better in the 2nd version. I got nothing but praise.
 
Awesome, driving rock. I like the tone of your voice. Or is it timbre? Regardless, its cool. I listened twice.
 
Hey Dogmatix,

The vocal sounds great. Perhaps I'm just in a different mood or what, but this is seems much better. Everything under the sun is in tune.... Still try amping the vocal an inch or so... don't be bashful :)
