Death metal song

It's a little dark. Some more high end crispness on the guitars would be nice.

It's also quite dry. The lack of reverb really sticks out on the drum fill at 1:27.

The kick is really clicky. I'm not sure if that's the goal with this kind of metal, but it sounds kind of silly on the 16th notes. (Robotic at best).

Otherwise, it seems a decent mix. You're pretty good at the guitars. Are you going to add lyrics?

Thanks for the feedback! yeah i think the clicky kick drum is a staple for this type of music.

It sounds good man you might want to work in some vocals because I find in Death Metal it can be hard getting the vocals to sit in right and sound as good as the vocals in your favorite professional recordings. The kick doesn't have to be so clicky either. If you listen to a lot of the old school stuff the kicks are full and deep. It's really just personal preference and doing what ever you can to make the mix work better.

It's sounds pretty good you're on the right track, just have to finish it up and complete the music with vocals and shit. A slight amount of reverb on the cymbals might make it sound a little better.

im a fan of this genre... the kick sounds great, the toms are dead sounding, and the snare sounds dull during the non blast parts. overall the whole mix could use some high end, maybe some excitation, and some verb might make it all come together a bit. also is there bass? hard to hear if there is.

i like the song a lot, with vocals it'll sound brutal.

rock on carnie....sounds pretty cool man..the drums do sound a bit clicky as mentioned above, but over all i dig what your doing here..

check this out, it`s a friend of mines sons band...
unfortunantly youtube killed the sound, as it usually does, but check it out, and let me know what ya think?
(note the drum sound)
it`s a bit different twist on death metal kinda..

AL P, the music you posted is known as Death Core. It's trending now. Kinda cheesy in my opinion, like a bunch of emo kids worshiping slip knot and half-assed guttural vocals. It's just the popular thing to do these days in the metal arena.

does that mean you don`t like it??

LOL/kidding..I hear ya, but I dig it...

Well it's not that it's bad, but it's kind of like ice cream. Some flavors of ice cream just don't do it for me while others are simply delicious :P

The drums are way too dry for my tastes, I'd start by adding some reverb. You need to make em sound bigger. When the drums come back in on that stop at 1:28, that sounded so weak. The guitars sound good, the song is cool, the playing is tight and intricate. I dont mind the clicky kick, it kinda has to be to stay so well defined at those speeds. But like VHS says it is VERY robotic, it totally sounds like midi. NTTAWWT :D a little 'humanize' goes a long way on this kinda music. Sounds decent tho, I wish it had vox. Im a total metal head, bring it!
