I bought that Dean number that Musician's Friend offered a while back...haven't restrung it or had it long enough to judge the intonation over time. Anyone with any comments? It's that B L U E acoustic/electric with 5-band EQ and feedback elimination...

Thanks!

Well, I don't know about that model, but I've been playing a Dean elcetric for, um, 3 years, and I like it alot. I think it plays like a much more expensive guitar (it's only really mid-range). It looks sexy and bucks the hum like anything. The only problem (and I've heard that this is a recurring problem with Dean) is that the electics are going.

I used to work at dealer of Dean guitars, and when we first got them, I didn't like them, but in the last couple of years they have become relaly nice guitars for the money. The BLUE one that you are talking about is my favourtie Dean to ever come out. I love that guitar, we sold them for pretty cheap, cause we somehow got them in a steal. but, yeah, Much of Dean's stuff is really nice lately. Probably some of the best foreign made guitars. Their explorer style can compete with any hamer or gibson. Their basses are also wonderful, I have an acoustic bass that I love from them, and I want to get an electric one soon, and for 225, how can I go wrong. EMGs in it for 275. Yeah, so Deans are cool for the money, but it still doesn't always feel right to be playing something that says "dean" on the headstock.

I tell you what, they sure need to spend some extra time sanding off the frets! Didn't take too long to initiate the guitar, if you know what I mean.

My hands are hamburger (thumb and pointy finger, from sliding up and down neck).

Damn!

(otherwise, great!)

I recently purchased a Dean Exotica. I love this guitar! I was shopping around, and I tried Takamine, Ovation and a few others. This Is the best acoustic out there for the money. (Pretty bold eh!) I'd still rather have a Guild, or a Gibson, but the Dean plays as nice and sounds as good as most of the higher-end acoustics on the market today. (IMHO) It doesn't feedback either.
