Go flake out on the couch and do nothing for a few days.
Now THAT would make me ill.

Thanks, Kramer.
I wanted to address a couple of other comments too before letting this go for good (or bad

)
Guernica and Gidge - I love what you said about Jaimee's song. Another very cool member of this BBS (who shall remain nameless unless he wants to say something) has graciously offered to record Jaimee CORRECTLY...I'm totally stoked, and so is she, since neither of us have ever been in a "studio," no matter how modest. It looks like maybe it'll happen over Christmas. I actually requested permission from Patty Griffin's label (which it was cool enough to provide, with certain stipulations...like NO RETAIL SELLING), but I think I want her to record an original. She writes some, but I can't help horning in on the writing. Anyway, that should be fun.
muzeman - that's me singing all of the backups. Jaimee's too good to help her old man out anymore. Thanks
JR#97 - Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna' give the preamp a shot, and I'm going for the Studio Projects' C1 for the vocal. I appreciate what you're saying about the preamp, but I figure SOME preamp should be better than what I've been using, right? Anyway, as for that fucked up sound on the leads, it's...hang on, lemme' check..."WAVES-
Meta Flanger" Preset to "Ampex 440." After the strong opinions on the last tune's lead tones (yours included), I made a conscious effort to use some TOTALLY out of place effect on every recording from now on...the only criteria is that I have to like it. I liked the sound on this one tune. Thanks, as always, for your careful ear.
erichenryus - Your vocals sound great, and I noticed that you put a "b" on the end of your mic. I had been using the AKG C3000 (no 'b'), and it does make a difference. AKG fixed a lot of the problems that I'm stuck with on your model, and I think your mic and everything you do with it sounds great. (I'm going with the C1 soon).
emeric - I'm ditching the new mic for vocals after this tune. That's one DEFINITE. The reason I wanted to try it is b/c the one I'm using is notorious for it's harshness, and I'm the most sibilant vocalist I've ever heard. Seriously, I don't speak with a lisp or anything, but I have the loudest fucking ESSES in the world. There's a huge notch in my vocal channel when I play live right at 8K, and the compressor on my vocal has like a 15:1 squish in the same frequency. Your quote killed me..."IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED." No shit. If I address it any more, I'm afraid there won't be any consonants left in any of my vocals. I'm hoping a "softer" mic will help. Thanks.
joro - I like the pedal steel too. This one's not worth the trouble, but I'm gonna' get back to that instrument just as soon as I can.
Fenderlikingood - - I wish you didn't have a real job so you could just hang out here all the time. Thanks
OH YEAH...THE REASON I'M POSTING AGAIN IS BECAUSE I PUT UP A FINAL VERSION, AT 320KPS. I CAN TELL NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER BETWEEN IT, AND THE WAV, SO IF THE SOUND SUCKS, IT'S JUST ME. THANK YOU FOR DOWNLOADING IT AND RIPPING IT APART!!!
