Why you gotta be so mean?
I would like to get some ddrum triggers, and I would like to use them for a program like ezdrummer. How would I convert the trigger which has a xlr output into the mide for the ezdrummer. My interface is a firepod, if that helps. I dont want to have to buy a drum module, is there like a single channel xlr to midi box or something? Thanks!

no. You record is as an audio track. Depending on which software you use, it will be different. In Cubase, they call it "Hit points" and it effectively puts markers where the hit is. I personally dont use so I cannot elaborate more about it. I just midi in my drums via pads. If you are going to spend money on triggers, you may as well get a brain

Thanks, I think I figured it out with something like ktrigger or something, I'm at work I can't remember exactly what it is. The reason I do t want a drum mod because I am only using it for the snare, and I don't need all the other stuff it comes with.

Yup, just record the trigger as if it was a mic and use a plugin that converts the hits to midi. Drumagog does that very nicely.

Drumagog converts it into midi? Like I could put it in drumagog then into ezdrummer?

Drumagog will convert it to midi, trigger from midi, trigger it's own samples, and a bunch of other stuff.

Buy an Alesis Trigger I/O. Its only $150 and you can plug up to 10 triggers into it, it then converts them to midi and you plug it into a usb port on your computer. It even comes with BFD lite so all you do is hook up the triggers, plug in the usb and open the DAW or BFD stand alone app. DONE.

Akai used to do an MT35 midi trigger, you can make the triggers yourself.
