hi again...i still work with 4-track...now i have tascam 424 mkIII with dbx. I know dbx compresses and reduces noise...right?
So if i recor with dbx...and then mix...do i still need the dbx activated? And if i mix with cool edit pro do i have to play the trax (to get them into the computer) also with dbx activated? Or what do you guys think about?

If you record with dbx, you must play back with dbx, or it will sound strange (heavy compression).
