I found a 2 channel mic pre at the local music shop for $200 (CND) It is a dbx 760x...I haven't seen anyone talk about this pre. there are none on ebay. Is this a good price?? is this a good pre for its class? ie how does it stack up to a behringer ultragain or a tube mp or a mackie 1202 vlz pro? what kind of sound does it have?? is it reliable? when were they made?? this is probaby enough questions for one post....thanks in advance.(btw I will be using it with a pair of mxl603s or a pair of senn 421's)
It was in production from around '92 to '98
Solid state
Two channels
Polarity switch
Phantom power
XLR in and out
Half rack
No EQ, no frills, just 60 dB of gain
It retailed for $349
It had a very clean and transparent sound, most of the folks that have them don't sell them. I would snap it up ASAP.
