Here is the latest mix of this song from my musical - A Feeling of Power.

The stage is split between a doctor's examination room and a kitchen.

Nurse Merry sings the first verse along with young Desiree sitting in the kitchen with her mother Patrice.

Then Patrice sings the second verse.

Then all three sing the last verse simultaneously.

It is two different melodies to the same music bed.

Only 2:18 so it won't take a lot of your time.

Hope you enjoy it.

Wig - another great tune, so melodic and full of complex but well arranged instruments. I see you have found some ladies to perform the tune - good to hear. Brings back memories of your script that I read for the play. The mix sounds good. I'm not sure if the bongos are too loud....it was the only thing that came to mind and it was minor...

This was very well done Wig:)! Mix sounds clear and full on phones. There is an odd juxtaposition of almost traditional maritime-sounding melodies with these modern percussion sounds, but I think it works.

I like the vocals and it comes together well when all three sing together in the 3rd verse. I would have preferred a bit more Nurse Merry in comparison with Desiree in the first verse, but just a preference thing obviously...nice goin' :D

Well-written, classic melody. I think the percussion track goes toward the mechanical. I think if you could try one thing, remix it with the "hi-hat" TOTALLY removed. Let it float with just the congas and moving bass line. I bet you'll find the smoothness and darkness you seek; and what might be missing because the ear is distracted by that one sound.

I did enjoy the tune, it's neat and sparse in the right places, busy in the right other places... Thumbs up!

Well Wig, you know me, your #1 fan and most ardent critic. :D I'm not crazy about the arrangement with the conflicting melodies in the 3rd verse. But I know it's probably too late to change anything. it would be nice to hear the two sets of lyrics resolve to the same last line, at least :) .

It's a simple and smooth flowing melody. I like the voice for the patrice character.

Thanks for sharing. As always, a Wig Classic.

Cool song. I like the melodies, and the singers have interesting voices. (I suppose the more nasally one (Nurse Merry?) wouldn't normally be considered a good sound, but I think it could work for musical theater.)

The only thing I didn't like was that the vocals sounded like they might be EQd a little shrilly. Maybe taper off a little high end.
