Hi ALL: I just put the 5th cd in the box since starting recording for the contest yesterday morning. I had my special education students make cd covers. They did some wild stuff-very Picasso like. They, like me, move fast with art. 6 students turned out 100 hand drawn covers in 1 hour! The music is good IMO. The songs have been pretty diverse in content and considering I am spending about 2 minutes mastering them to cd, they sound ok. I am ready for some more recording tomorrow. Here is a link to the RPM songs. Walter

Coffee coloured girl blues has a nice feel, Walt!

It would take a lifetime to listen to all your tracks!

I guess what you are doing is 'musical conversation' in a way... I never came across it before!

thanks Frankie: Coffee color girl blues is a true story of a girl I loved 35 years ago. The race issue just got to intense for her. I have been doing this for almost 50 years and with instruments in my hands for 35. I don't know how it happens. I feel like a time traveler when I play. I close my eyes and the songs emerge. I then become the song, smelling, feeling, seeing the song. When I open my eyes when it is over, it is like coming back from a deep meditation. Having a studio to catch it all is something I have dreamed of for decades. I feel blessed. The guiness book of world records contacted me yesterday. They want to cover me doing this, but will need official witnesses. On their website they said they charge for this and I dropped the application. But they contacted me yesterday saying they want to do it. I am a school teacher and have summers off. That will be a good time. I am not that far behind my normal production of songs. It is just realizing that no one has done what I am doing and attempting now with 28 or more cds for the month. That makes it feel very special. I am feeling good and looking forward to recording some more today. Walter

+1 to enjoying Coffee Colored Girl Blues. Could I borrow some of your talent while you sleep please? You do sleep occasionally don't you???? ;)

I've been dazzled by your astonishing rate of output over the last couple of days.... until I checked your sig..

Walter Tore's Spontobeat- spontaneously created words and music- over 1 million songs and growing.

Assuming that you've been writing songs every single day for the past 40 years, that's still an average of 70 songs per DAY!

You're apparently slowing down a bit with age Walter.... :D ;)

But it explains why you sound like you know your way round your instruments so well - you've obviously put in an enormous amount of hours playing over those years.

Now I don't feel so bad about being 62 and still mediocre at playing, after only 3 or 4 years of messing around for a few minutes a day. I need to pick the pace up a bit.

OK, A LOT... :o

Cheers,

Old Chris...

Hi Chris: I have been making songs up since I was a baby my mother says. My normal output is about 300 cds a year. I don't post most of them because it takes too long. I sing alot when I walk and drive. I spent about 20 years playing often 10 hours a day. I would play on the streets all day and then gig with my band at night. When I play, my worldly pains go away, and I have a lot of pain :). Seriously, I play to stay alive. All my music friends wished for fame and girls. I wished for that groove I saw guys like Lightning had. Money, girls, and all that were of no real interest. As long as you are playing what feels good to your soul, you are a great artist. Don't let people influence that. Little kids start out great artists and our assembly line culture pounds them into cookie cutter artists or pressures them to quit. I haven't quit yet. The little babies are our teachers with art and life. My special ed students are my teachers in these areas. I tried to join the school bands and choirs in middle school and they told me I had no talent. Then magically, the old men appeared that had no musical training. I hooked on them like white on rice. I recorded about 1.5 hours worth of songs last night and mixed 10 to cd. This has me up to 8 cds. I have a bit of a cold today. I rarely get a cold. I am at work taking it easy, drinking constant hot water/honey/lemon. That usually clears me up in a day. I will record when I get home. Sometimes being a bit off leads to some bent stuff that I could never tap when feeling "normal". I am going throw a party on the 28th to celebrate. Anyone in the Columbus Ohio area is invited. Walter

That's one party I'd love to attend!

It's too far from London, Walt and sadly, I don't have the air fare nor could I get the time off work. But have me there in spirit, by all means! :D I'll have an imaginary bourbon..

I'll have a beer in London and give you a toast over the Internet!

Have a good one!

Will do Frankie and thanks! Nigel Price, an author is doing a book on my life. He lives outside London. He has been stateside a couple times to accompany me on tours. I hope to get over to his place someday. The problem for my wife and I is our dogs. We don't have kids, so our dogs are our love. We don't board them on planes or put them in kennels. When I use to tour, we would bring them in our 40 foot bus. I know England has a quarantine as well on dogs. Maybe someday we will meet up. Walter
