I feel a bit lonely on this poll...

It's PT mpowered for me, where are the rest of you???

I'm sticking with Cubase Studio 4.5.2. I've no need for the new bells and whistles in CB5 which all seem to be aimed at 1 man bands. Also there is no driver support for my Yamaha N12...the last piece of hardware to be made with the cubase logo on it...typical of steinberg not to test their new software on their last hardware release.

Even if the driver does come out at the end of the month as promised I'll be leaving CB5 well alone.

Don't fix what isn't broken :)

i use a freebie called Kristal Audio Engine. Its pretty good with it being freeware. the only thing i dont like about it is u can only use 2 vst's per channel. I'm thinking about switching to Traverso, another freebie.

To be honest, I believe ProTools has been losing a lot of ground in the past several years, in terms of market share.

Reaper all the way - love the constant updates as it gets better and better and better :)

Started with FL Studio, moved on for a brief dalliance with Orion, now using Cubase LE4.

I am currently using Reaper. It is amazing for being a free program. I am new to recording so I am sticking to Reaper until I learn all about DAWs and then I may switch to either Sonar or Cubase. I started recording using Garageband on my brother Mac, but I now moved away from home and I have a PC. I found reaper to be the most similar to Garageband and it was the easiest one for me to just pick up and go. I have messed around with Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton Live, Fruity Loops, and Acoustica Mixcraft. Mixcraft was also very similar to Garage band but I thought the editing audio files sucked. Reaper is very easy in that you can just place the cursor wherever you want on the track and cut the track at that point and then move the tracks around by just clicking and dragging. One problem I am finding with Reaper is with midi sounds. For example, with EZdrummer when you click on a cymbal/drum it takes awhile for the sound to play. Where with Fruity Loops it plays the sound right away. So I may stick to Fruity Loops for making drum beats and use Reaper for recording guitar parts.

Maybe there is a setting in Reaper that will fix the delay in sound.. If so can someone send me a PM if they know how to fix it.

Sorry for being pedantic but you do know Reaper is not a 'free' program right? Anyways, I had the same problem with the midi delay - I updated the ASIO drivers - link to follow as I have to have 5 posts to provide one apparently. Then change the setting to ASIO in Reaper under preferences (ctl+P) and Device/audio system. No guarantees, but it worked for me.
Always do a system backup before installing anything, just in case ;)

Thats what ProTools would have you beleive. :p

Among professional studios in the US, Pro Tools HD has been the most common platform for the last several years. That is why they call themselves the industry standard. However this seems to be changing slowly, more and more studios are moving to native solutions now that PC's and Mac's both have huge processing power.

I use PT-Mpowered, Reason, Reaper, and Riffworks.:D
