This is my first post on this forum, and is posted under the newbie section of the forum so if my questions seem vague please let me know..

What DAW's should I be looking into? I have read a little bit on Logic Pro and Protools, as well as ACID Pro, they all have there pros and cons, but which do most of you prefer to use? Any advice would be appreciated, or if there is another DAW I should look into please feel free to post up a link and I will check it out.

I have a Mac OS X Version 10.6.2 Laptop with a 2.26 GHz intel core 2 duo processor, with 2 GB of memory.

If you're a Noob I suggest Garageband. It's fun, works great and capable too. I have Logic Studio but still use Garageband at times - you can have a whole lotta fun with Garageband and actually produce some really nice recordings with it. Also download REAPER for Mac - I use it too - It's a very nice DAW.

i started on garage band too and i've gotta say it taught me a lot. I now use logic as well and i feel it offers a more "user friendly" DAW experience. I moved from pro tools and when i switched to logic i was impressed all around, the tools midi sequencing steps its drum machine its even got a pitch correction plugin that comes with it. if your on a budget logic express runs for about 200 bucks, for your buck you can't get much more bang
