So I had heard he was ditching ESP, and now it has finally happend. He left for DEAN!

Does Dean even make any "quality" instruments? I always thought they only made entry level stuff.

I thought he was dead or became a Mormon or something.

Dean makes some great stuff in their USA line. When I was working for a huge Dean dealer, I ordered a Dimebag USA Tribute Razorback for a guy ($3500 pricetag). I'm not into shredder guitars, but that guitar was quality in every way. Their USA Hardtails are great guitars too, and their resale sucks so you can pick up one really cheap. With the way Dean endorsements are picking up so fast, I'd say a used one could be a good investment in a few years.

They do a few signature models that I would love to try out, the Rusty Cooley 7 string and the Michael Angelo models look promising. Never tried them though...

dean

a few months ago i worked a mountian show [roadie security] dean has a leslie west signiture guitar.... leslie had 5 dean guitars w/ him i got to try a few..... i thought they were very high end .......

I guess I have just never seen anything but their cheap stuff.

dean makes some great guitars, i own 3 now and love them, i will say that the usa models are a little higher quality but thier mid level is a close second and for the price hard to beat

I was at the D.O.A. party tonight. "The Dean owners of america." -A huge bash thrown by the co. Rusty Cooley was there, Michael Angelo Batio. Had a hell of a time. Those guys can really shred. Some amazing stuff. A bunch of people from the crowd got up and jammed too. They had a bunch of U.S.A. guitars there to use on stage. Pretty kick-ass guitars if you ask me.
