I'm thinking of picking up this dual preamp:

Anyone have any experience using it? Seems like a good deal -- $595 including shipping. I like the form factor -- it's built like a brick and might be tough enough to withstand some rough road recording... Suggestions?

Here is a thread from gearslutz in their Remote Possibilities forum. It deals with remote recording. There is a lot of good info there. This thread mentions that pre a few times.

thanks for the link. so i gather no one here has much experience with the bg-1. i'm surprised this pre isn't mentioned more. for $595, this seems like it would compete with other bang-for-your-buck favorites. i guess i'll pick one up and let ya'll know how it is.
