Okay you sick fucks, there is no 13 year hookers here.

Now, my friend just got a Korean Epi. I can not for the life of me find a means of dating it. Its got the gibson style headstock. The serial number only on the sticker in the soundhole. Its a PR-350S, SN 8509076.

I just set it up and it plays like a dream.

Come on......I waiting..........tick tock tick tock...............

just kidding

Not much help, but the only information I can come up with suggests the possibility of either a '98 or an '85. Apparently the Korean manufacturers (Samick, Aria, etc) of Epiphones work their own systems, or else Epiphone keeps changing its nomenclature (Gee, GIBSON never did that  ).

One theory is that the first one or two digits of the serial number correspond to the year of manufacture, and the next three to the date. By one measure, that would suggest the guitar was built on March 31st, 1985.

Or not...

---------------
YMMV

I figure 80, 85 or 89. There is NO WAY IN HELL this was made in 98.

I put my money on 85, since in 80 it was still in Japan.

This may sound elitist, but........

...isn't trying to date a Korean-made Epi kinda like trying to date a Cort or Hondo guitar???

:p

Ya, maybe..........but everyone likes to know when they were born.
