hello
When looking for places to buy cheap Minidiscs for my MD8 (which I havent even recieved yet), I keep running into descriptions that say: "Used in mini disc drives, multirackers, and cameras". Is there really such thing as a mini disc drive? If so, could I get one and pop my 8 track minidisc in there somehow and copy the music over to my computer? That would be cool because there would be NO loss in the quality of the sound...

There were rumored to be md -ram drives in the early 90's in parts of Japan for a whole ton of money. But since the release of MD and the new advertising campaign in 1998 I have not heard anything about them. They were supposed to fit into a 3.25 drive bay and transfer audio or data, much like a cdrom, only they were rewritable. You might want to really dig through everything about Sony you can find, cause it was either them or Mitsumi that had the drives out. Sorry I don't know more. If you find anything out, be sure to post it.

Hey Nibog check out www.minidisc.org.
They even have a picture of an MD data drive but good luck finding one I've been looking for over a year and still havn't found one. Sony USA doesn't carry them but I've seen pictures on Sony Japan I just can't read Japanese.
