I am interested in recording live concerts with something that is very small, and has excellent quality but is very easy/user-friendly. I then want to put the recording onto my computer so I can transfer it to CR-R. I was thinking about the Sharp 821 Mini Disk, Sony MZR70 Mini Disk or Sony DAT TCD-D100. Which would be better suited for my purpose?

I have this good friend who plays bass, who has been on tour, and is a great musician and friend.

He told me, a few months ago, he uses a Sony type small device to record his particular group when he is gigging; then, he goes from there to the computer to do CD's. Well, I didn't believe him until I heard some of the stuff he does.

So, a small Sony type recorder of minidisc type might be all you need but you might need more might.

Anyways, keep asking and checking here.

Are you going for stealth? If so, go with the minidisc, and check out http://www.soundprofessionals.com
If not, well then I'd still say go with the minidisc recorder. Go here: http://www.minidisc.org/acc_table.html and scroll down to "professional use housings" for some interesting add-ons.

minidisc is cheaper, and you probably wont even notice the compression.

should you decide to go minidisc, I would lean towords not buying a sony.
