DAT help

I want to be able to record shortwave broadcasts. Can I use a DAT recorder to record them piece by piece then transfer it to a stand-alone CD recorder when the DAT tape is full? Also, does a DAT work just like a standard tape player in that you can record, stop, record until the tape is full? And one last thing: Recording won't interfere with reception, will it? I sincerely appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you.

Yes a Dat tape can stop and continue to record till the tape is full.
And I dont belive that it will interfere with radio recep.

You might experience buzz or hum if you keep the dat recorder near the source..
