Hi Doctor...
I listened...but,
I did not understand...
To evaluate the mix is one thing but, there has to be some rhymne or reason to the music to begin with....

What is my imagery?
Am I floating beneath viscous liquid?

It is really hard for me to evaluate the sound because
musically, this seems bizarre to me...

Hey, what do I know anyways....
Take it easy man,
Joe

>What is my imagery? Am I floating beneath viscous liquid?

Not viscous, just corrosive and toxic and either chilled or warm or pretty freekin' scalding hot. Something you want really badly has fallen beneath the surface of one of a number of very large coffin-shaped vats filled with nasty but you don't know which one out of a half dozen and it's really dark in there, like looking into a vat of unfiltered beer. Time is of the essence in this endeavor. Your precious object is being eaten alive as you dawdle about planning the salvage operation. By the time you actually retrieve it, it may be like a half eaten cheeseburger left in the sun for a few weeks.

Thanks for checking it out. Were you able to count the 9/4 tempo?

>musically, this seems bizarre to me...

If it didn't I'd be worried about you.....

It sounded to me like my computer wuz being infected with some wicked virus. I wuz just waiting for the screen of death...

#1- Ya' can't evaluate a creation like this under the influence of alchohol!!!:D

#2- If you do listen under the influence, you hear subtle references to the music played by the alien band in the bar scene
of the 1st "Star Wars" movie!

#3- You absolutely went off the wall with the 9/4 tempo of which
I lost timing after the beginning of the 2nd stanza (:35) during a
a seemingly outta-this-world crescendo!

#4- This is indeed a toxic concoction of experimental chordal arrangements and timing!

and last but not least....

#5- doc, you're wierd!!!:D :D :D

Good job though it increased my blood-alchohol level!!!:p

>#1- Ya' can't evaluate a creation like this under the influence of alchohol!!!

I don't see why not. It was written, performed and recorded that way!

Well, if that's the case.....***buuurrp*** 'sccoze me ! ... than I did enjoy what I thought I heard!!!:)

dr stawl, i like what it is you do.... reminded me of "yes" just a teensy bit

none of the sounds come close to giving out ear bleeds, there are no annoying frequencies (if thats what you were worried about).

i would love to hear you work with a drummer; someone like bruford or even bozzio, lots of china's and spokes hihats... then you'd better perscribe him some prosac so his head doesn't explode....

Thanks dr.colossus: Very vaguely like Yes, but thanks for the comparison.

>if thats what you were worried about

it was, and I thank you for your time!

>i would love to hear you work with a drummer;

HAHHAHAHA

Yup- Me too!

I have worked with some good drummers, but they are few and far between.

drstawl - it's another hit! :D

I don't pretend to understand your music..... I just like it.

If you ever want to collaborate, please drop me a line!

cool vision as always!

I came. I listened. I think I just came again. Cool Doc:cool:

Sounds good. A bit different texture on that synth in the right channel, sounds like an old analog synth tone. Adds to it though, it's like 'the lead'. Had a tough time counting 9 in that.

Short tune!

Cool

Very cool Doc..........I could feel the toxic alien sludge bubbling beneath my canoe....was I on a canoe? I think I was ....:D

If there is anything in the world that I could compare it to...I would say that your songs remotely resemble the "space" jams that the Grateful dead used to play at there live shows between sets.....Ofcourse, space never sounded this good....nor was space ever in 9/4 time......9/4 time huh......I couldn't count it man, and I'm pretty good with the theory stuff...maybe if I gave it another listen....

Rock on, or whatever it is that you do, I'm not sure if "rock on" is appropriate :D I like it...it's awesome man

AAAAGGGGHHHHH

WOW! That was some wicked stuff! I found myself pulling my hair out!

But seriously, this experimental stuff is very cool, though I don't think I could listen on a regular basis. I'm going to send this song over to my Bro who loves this kind of stuff!

I tried to tap my toes, but ended up losing them instead @@@!

Keep up the good work!

do I hear the Roland "guitar harmonic" patch on the right side a lot of the times?

did this end on 're' ?

Thanks for Supporting Alternative Music.

mixmkr: yes: two thirds of the time that patch is in use. It ended on a dissonant triad of "E", "F" and "G" :)

boydrj: it's pretty tough to count the 9 but it's there!

nave: that would make for some interesting canoeing.

Emeric: I'll send ya a screen shot of the patch selection.

Track Rat: <----- Thanks! I'll have what he's having.....

B. Sabbath: If I get any ideas I think you could shred on I'll send it along.

Unusual tempo shifts in this one.

I know it isn't quite in the spirit of polyphony to say this, but I really like that voice that comes in at about 0.20 for about 10 seconds - it's a delicious sound. It sounds like hacking or chopping.

Do an entire tune with that voice out front, or more prominent. It's great.

So - how many strawberries did you lose in the soup, anyway?

No Strawberries were injured in the creation of this piece.
You have to post these disclaimers so the SPCS won't come for you.
