It's a good album. The thing I notice first and foremost about it is the *sound*. I think it's worth getting into the album just for the sound he gets on it.
The songs are well-written, but the words don't jump out and get your attention. But the sound does - you just go into that sound and get lost in it. It's got layers. There's a picture of him singing with two mics taped together. That sums it up for me - it's layers and layers. And he makes it sound good.
