Hey guys, something sounds a bit off in the mix, I cant put my finger on it exactly. Let me know what you think.

ADK Hamburg on guitar(left chan)/vox - Line in( piezo/transducer) guitar (right channel) -> Presonus Firepod -> Cubase -> Rverb + Rvox plugs on vox - Rvox on guitar. Rbass on bass.

Let me know what you guys think, what I can do, what sounds good/bad.

Thanks so much,
Josh

I think it's a good song, and that you have some talent.

I think the song needs a little more detail and rhythmic complexity. Some of the extra guitar stuff you put in is too quiet, and the percussion, while welcome, feels a little hesitant -whereas the guitar is driving the 16th note feel. I think the percussion could be a little more aggressive, starting with the first chorus. Something snare-like on the two and the four during the choruses would really help propel the song forward and give it some more energy.

thank you! THats great advice and I agree! Unfortunately I dont have the drum skills. I have a set and could work on it. I was useing some little bongos and a shaker to do what I could. I was going to put some drums in with ez drummer, but I screwed up the metrome so I start on the high beat. I suppose i could work around it maybe.

Im starting to see what you mean. I am way less of a musician than most think. ;) when it comes to counting notes and understanding fractions it takes me a while. But yeah thats a good idea, I could do some snare hits in there. hmmm

It doesn't necessarily need a kit - just some detail. Bongos, shakers, tambourine and handclaps are more than enough.

Nice recording :).

I agree with supercreep. I think the guitar/bass/vocals are very well done, but if you're going to use percussion at all, I think it has to be more involved than what you have here. The quiet bongo/shaker thing doesn't seem to add much at present, but with similar instruments, you could track some more complimentary sounds that might really bring this all together.
