My local Guitar Center has the Brick for $319. It is a display unit. Should I Jump? I also know where I can get a RNP for $430 used but in great shape. What do I do, Help. I can move on either today. I would like to have two channels, but I don't have to have them. It will be my only preamp for a little while. Just me recording on my own with, Acoustic guiatar, low mid male vocals, GuitarTube amp miced with SM57.

if you don't have any other pres, get the RNP. you have way more possibilites with recording in stereo.

when i record acoustic guitar, i personally like to have one mic really close to the soundhole and another mic as an overhead about 3 feet above, 4 feet out - definitely gives more dimension to the sound.

That's a good deal. I love the brick for vocals, DI, and miking guitar cabs. For acoustic guitar, however, it is often too "warm/mushy" sounding for my taste (using MXL 603s mic). It has plenty of high-end, but seems a little slow on the transients of the guitar, imo.

Yeah, I would. Best I can find is 395. Around christmas GC had a GT55 and Brick combo pack for 500, I'm still kicking myself for not picking that up.

Couldn't let it go, Got the Brick $349 Out the door

Guys, I couldn't just let the Brick go to someone else. I went to Guitar Center and got it. $349 out the door. 30 damn dollars in tax. Their cost was 318.00 I did this because I figured I could still get a two channel clean unit in the near future. I could get a Sx-202, or since I use the payment plan at AMS, I could get the TwinQ when they get it.

I'll do a couple recordings with it and try to post them asap.

Here's a swap for ya... GC has the brick (or at least they did, till they sold it to Jeff..!), but MusiciansFriend doesn't. And MusiciansFriend has the TwinQ, but GC doesn't...
