I tried to hookup my firestation which is advertised as being compatible with OSX to my Macbook Pro today. Guess what? didn't work worth a shit. Then I tried downloading the mlan 2.0 and the new firmware for the unit. Presonus directed me to yamaha for the download, and yamaha said they assumed everyone had the firmware upgrade. they sent me back to presonus.

Does anyone have a link to the updated firmware for the firestation? You can get the mlan stuff for osx, but yamaha isn't providing the firmware download anymore.

I can understand limiting support on a discontinued product, but man this is extrememly frustrating.

I want to record dammit!!

Ugh. An mLan product.... There is much ranting about the mLan support in Mac OS X....

Are you sure it still has the mLan1 firmware? As best I understood it, if you still had the old firmware, the interface shouldn't even show in Mac OS X. I could be wrong.

Are you up-to-date with Mac OS X updates? What is the specific behavior that is causing problems?

Exactly! It doesn't even show in Mac OS X! I called presonus today and the told me to email some guy who would have the firmware, but he didn't have it in an acceptable format for OSX. So I have to find a XP machine with a 6-pin firewire port, upload the firmware onto the firestation from there, and then try it again on the mac. What a pain.

Im up to date on OSX
