Da Bears Feedback Please!

Pretty "demo'ish" sounding..... both from a performance and sound recording perspective.....

I wouldn't know where to start with advice other than to say hang around on this site and read a lot....

Song 1:

Below 150 Hz things are out of control. The bass is eating up your mix.

You need bigger monitors or a sub-woofer.

I would also say read up on high pass and low pass techniques.

Can you say midrange? You have little to none.

The bass and drummer need to practice playing together.

16-32 bars of the same riff is not conducive to pleasurable listening.

I do hear some considerable talent across the board but its just not been captured properly.

Song 2.

All of the above except the vocal is not EQd or set in the mix.
The framework of the song is much better.
You need to add a rythmn guitar track behind the lead solo
Sounds like this was mixed live to 2 tracks. Try tracking the drums and bass first then come back and do the rest. Tracking seperate will give you more control over the mix and EQ.

Hated the ending.

3rd song

Link didn't work.

Thanks a bunch for the input. I'm sure a huge problem with my mixing are my "monitors". Can you suggest a cheap solution?

I'm aware of the off beat drums and sketchy vocals, we're not trying to get signed or anything with this demo; just wanted to record the songs and experiance recording a full band for the first time.

On all of the songs each instrument was done one at a time. Using Sonar to mix.

Any other suggestions / questions / comments would be appreciated :)

(third song should work now)
