D80 sync question!

ok so i just got a second D80, i am trying to slave one to the other. i have the midi cable and optical cable hooked up properly. i can get the slave to chase the master in play mode. the problem is recording. i cant get the slave to record. the tracks are enabled. any suggestions? thanks, matt

have you actually set "enable rec" in the menu. i know you've activated the tracks, but check that. try removing the SPDIF cable. it should sync without it, shouldn't it?

so what are you saying, on your slave machine, you cant actually press record and play? if you're trying to control the record button from your master d80, i dont think you can do that.

by the way, what size drive do you have in your D80? just interested in how big a drive it can take before you need to upgrade the EPROM.
