Hello I have an Alesis D4 trigger modual and some Ddrum Red shot triggers I normaly just run them though my carvin power mixer. need help figguring out how to eliminate crosstalk between drumms Ive messed with the exit trigg to no avail am i just missing some great feature in the d4 or are my triggers or the carvin the problem? Ive been thinking about putting a noise gate in the mix would this help? I Normally play death metal what whould be the ultimate set up? Thanks

Mic your drums.
I record metal constantly.
And while yes triggers do offer consistency in terms of dynamics.
They can also offer up the inconsistencies youre currently struggling with.

But to answer you question.
1. Make sure the trigger is at 5 o'clock on the kick and just barely touching the head, it will also help to tighten the drum head a little too if its not already.
2. The gain feature on the dm4 is the trick.
Between proper trigger placement and the correct gain level youll get it dialed in eventually.
It takes patience.
As for the snare/toms etc... all the same rules apply here too.

Good luck.
